Beefy Protein Pasta
A hearty, high-protein pasta dinner made with Banza chickpea pasta, lean ground beef, and rich tomato sauce. This quick, satisfying meal is perfect for busy nights or an easy lunch meal prep when you want classic comfort food with extra nutrition.
Equipment
- medium pot to boil pasta
- large pot to make sauce
Ingredients
- 8 oz box of Banza Penne Pasta
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1/2 onion, diced optional
- 1 lb lean ground beef
- salt and pepper
- 1 tbsp Italian seasoning
- 24 oz jar of tomato sauce
- 4 tbsp grated parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Bring a medium pot of water to a boil.
- Preheat a large pot on the stovetop over medium heat. Add tbsp of olive oil and saute the diced onions for 5 minutes. Add the ground beef and chop up with a wooden spoon. Season with salt, pepper and 1 tbsp of Italian seasoning.
- Once the beef is no longer pink, add the jar of tomato sauce and simmer for 10-20 minutes while the pasta cooks.
- Cook the pasta in the boiling water according to package directions. Once cooked, drain and add to pasta sauce.
- For meal prep, divide into 4 containers. Top each dish with a tbsp of grated parmesan cheese or other italian cheese. Enjoy!
